Assembly Station, the newest Orange Line station since 1987, opened on September 2, 2014. It is part of the greater Assembly Row development project in Somerville that includes retail stores, restaurants, office spaces, residential spaces, a movie theater, a hotel, and even LEGOLAND.
Before 1987, the Orange line was actually an elevated train that was nicknamed the "El".
Boston Streetcars has an interesting article about the "El" that includes archival photos and videos.
Here are some retro photos from Boston Magazine.

Microbreweries are having their moment. Assembly Row is home to Somerville's Slumbrew outdoor beer garden which is enclosed during the winter and open when it's warmer.
